Sample Projects

Project 1: Polyphonic Analog Synthesizer

The project required designing a high-fidelity analog synthesizer for a premium audio equipment manufacturer. The aesthetic design had to align with the brand's premium image, the design had to be modular, the materials had to be lightweight and durable, and full EMI/EMC shielding standards had to be complied with.
A full 3D CAD model was delivered, as well as complete engineering drawings for manufacturing including tolerances and material specifications. Assembly instructions were also provided, and prototypes were built. The client released the product to market and the engineer provided full support for production, quality assurance, and documentation.

Project 2: Lace-Engine for Autolacing Basketball Shoe

Tools: Altium Designer, Cadence Orcad, Power PCB by PADS
We assisted in the development of the water-sealed lace-engine, equipped with a lithium battery, gear motor, driver board, sensors, lighting, wireless charging and Bluetooth connectivity, for a major sports shoe manufacturer.
We managed production of the lace engine PCB assembly at the SMT line, conducted failure analysis, and drove the project from NPI (New Product Introduction) through to mass production. The client obtained a 99% final yield rate for PCBA production.

Project 3: Twin-Tub Washing Machine

The requirement was to design and develop a rust-free, top-loaded, twin-tub washing machine with a material cost reduction of at least 30%.
We accomplished this, and more. The conventional metal body cabinet was completely deleted, and its function was incorporated into the plastic wash tub design. We also performed a detailed value engineering exercise, redesigned all the major parts, and reduced the total weight. We were able to eliminate long-term metal body corrosion, reduce the assembly process time, and drastically increase the client's profit margin for this cost-effective product.

Project 4: Mobile App for Parts Inventory and Technician Guides

We were requested by a large manufacturer of innovative sleep solutions to develop a mobile app to manage the parts inventory database, assist the technicians in finding the right parts, display documentation, and control the bed for troubleshooting.
We designed, developed and launched the app, for both iOS and Android, from flowchart and UI through testing to go-live. Customer satisfaction increased by 30% and the number of follow-up calls were drastically reduced.
